About Us
The Clash of Clans community from the heart of Betawi, Jakarta: Capital of Champions
Who We Are
Clash of BaNG is a Clash of Clans community born and raised from the land of Betawi, specifically Jakarta. We are not just an ordinary group of gamers; we are the heirs of the Betawi warrior spirit, relentless and unbreakable, carrying the values of unity, courage, and brotherhood into the digital arena.
The name "BaNG" draws inspiration from the iconic Betawi term "Abang", a term of deep respect for elders and warriors. In our community, every member is an Abang who watches over others, teaches one another, and together builds a powerful clan from the land of Betawi to every corner of the archipelago.
Since 2018, we have united more than 2,400 members from Jakarta, Bandung, to Sanur. We are proud to carry the local wisdom of Betawi (patience, strategic ingenuity, and the spirit of "ora et labora") into every clan war we face.
Our Betawi Roots
Deeply rooted culture, razor-sharp strategy
Warrior Spirit
Betawi culture gave birth to the jawara tradition: warriors who are brave, just, and fearless in the face of challenges. This is the spirit we bring to every Clan War: never surrender until the last star is claimed.
Unity in Action
Betawi people are known for their gotong royong culture, working together toward a greater goal. At Clash of BaNG, no one plays for themselves. Every troop donation, every war attack, is for the entire clan.
Proud to be Betawi
Betawi is the original identity of Jakarta. Before the city became a metropolis, the Betawi people were already here. We are proud to carry that name into the Clash arena, proving that gamers from Betawi can compete and win at the national level.
The Betawi Way of Strategy
Just like the Betawi martial art called Cingkrik, which relies on agility and cunning, BaNG's dark troop strategy also prioritizes speed, surprise, and reading the enemy's movement before striking.
Embracing Each Other
"Pelok" in the Betawi language means to embrace tightly. At BaNG, every new member is welcomed like family. No one is left alone to face the steep learning curve of the game.
Tradition Meets Modernity
Betawi people are known for blending tradition with modernity, from ondel-ondel to Betawi hip-hop. BaNG is no different: strong cultural roots, always playing with the latest meta.
Our Journey
How two friends (one Javanese, one Betawi) turned a small idea into a real community
Where It All Began
It started with two friends and one secondhand laptop. Nehemiah Wilhelmus Junaidi, a Javanese kid raised on late-night strategy games, teamed up with his best friend from Betawi to turn a shared obsession into something real. The name "BaNG" was a tribute to his friend's roots, borrowed from the Betawi word "Abang." One Javanese, one Betawi, zero budget, way too much ambition.
First Real Win
Armed with nothing but a Discord server and pure stubbornness, the two friends won their very first community clash against a rival group. It was not an official tournament, but that single win was enough to convince them this little side project deserved to be taken seriously.
Moving Online
When the world stayed home, Clash of BaNG grew up. Nehemiah taught himself to code and built the community's very first website, while his Betawi partner handled the people, the events, and the hype. New members started trickling in from all across Java.
It Became a Home
The server crossed its first big milestone of active members. What had started as an inside joke between two friends had quietly turned into a place people actually belonged to, full of guides, late-night banter, and far too many troop debates.
Crossing the Island
Word spread beyond Java. Players from Bandung and Sanur jumped in, each bringing their own flavor. The little Javanese-and-Betawi friendship at the heart of BaNG had somehow grown into something far bigger than its two founders ever planned.
On the Map
Clash of BaNG earned its first proper shout-outs in the local gaming scene. To mark it, Nehemiah rebuilt the entire site from the ground up (cleaner, faster, and finally looking the part) as a small love letter to the community he and his friend accidentally created.
Still Just Us, Still Going
Years on, it is still run by the same two friends who started it (one Javanese, one Betawi), plus a few thousand members who decided to stick around. Nehemiah Wilhelmus Junaidi still keeps the website (and this very page) alive, proof that the best things often start with two people and one slightly ridiculous idea.
